Bonjour les amis!
Today was our freebie day in Inverness. It started with a slow morning at the hostel after 11:30 hours of sleep. We saw a rainbow through our window overlooking the canal and the castle (from St-Andrew’s cathedral to Inverness castle). We wandered through the Victorian market, spotted the train station and got lost looking for the Velocity cafe and bicycle workshop. Once we found it, we gorged ourselves with delicious moka and latte and sandwiches. We did a little bit of shopping and then hopped on a train (beautiful scenery) to Muir of Ord, were the Glen Ord distillery is. We were lucky enough to catch the last tour and tasting (for Suz: Singleton 12, 15 and 18 years old). Lynne smelled and was perfectly fine with it; she later tasted it and spat it back with a grimace. Our tasting and tour guide was great. We proceeded back to Inverness for more shopping (hints for family souvenirs… 😉 ). We searched for a restaurant but all the good ones were full! We ended up at Cafe 1 on Caslte Road… see our tripadvisor review… We planned on going out but had enough booze and excitement for one day. Well, good night world 🙂

Hello dear friends!
C’était notre journée touristique à Inverness. Après 11h30 de sommeil, nous avons admiré un 🌈complet de la cathédrale St. Andrew’s. Nous avons déambulé dans le marché Victorien, acheté nos billets à la gare et nous sommes perdues en cherchant le café et atelier cycliste Velocity. Une fois trouvé, nous y avons dégusté un latte et un moka et dévoré de délicieux sandwiches. Nous avons magasiné de nouveau et avons alourdi (blague perdue dans la traduction) le train (superbes paysages) vers Muir of Ord pour visiter une distillerie de 🥃. Nous avons eu la chance de pogner la dernière visite guidée. Notre guide était super. Suzanne a goûté un whisky de 12, 15 et 18 ans. Lynne a senti, puis goûté pour recracher aussitôt en grimaçant. Nous sommes retournées à Inverness magasiner pour des souvenirs familiaux. Tous les bons restaurants étaient pleins pour souper. Nous avons échoué à Cafe 1; lisez notre évalution sur TripAdvisor pour plus de détails. Nous avions prévu de danser dans un ceiligh ou d’écouter de la musique dans un bar, mais nous avons assez bu pour la journée. Bonne nuit tout le monde!
